Farms, huge ten-acre lots, and horses are prominent in Medina,
located in west-central Hennepin County 15 miles west of
Minneapolis. This area is popular with people who enjoy the
out-of-doors and the rural atmosphere. Several small lakes and
the Morris T. Baker Park Reserve can also be found in Medina.
The 2,000-acre Reserve, which offers good access to Lake
Independence, occupies approximately one-fifth of Medina's
land. It has camping areas, ball fields, an 18-hole golf
course and dozens of well-groomed trails. Medina also
maintains seven city parks.
