Edina is one of the "first ring" suburbs and does indeed have a lot of high-priced mansions -- more homes valued at half a million dollars and up than any other Twin Cities suburb. However, many other homes in Edina sell for less than $150,000 and there are an abundance of condos and townhouses. Still, the average home price here is close to $250,000.

Located in Hennepin County, Edina is the home of 2 major medical centers, Southdale (the world's FIRST indoor shopping mall), many city parks, and exceptional city services including a fine library and MANY city parks.

Edina is a growing, and progressive suburb of Minneapolis and the city lakes recreational area as well as 20 minutes from Lake Minnetonka and 20 minutes from the Twin Cities International Airport.

Edina has one of the best tax bases in the Twin Cities area. Our youth programs have gained national recognition for competitiveness and sportsmanship. Edina has gained a national reputation for it's fine companies, good schools, and community service projects. Minnesota's freezing winter temperatures can be thanked, in part, for that innovation in American culture, leading to its natural conclusion: the mall of malls, the Mall of America, also located in the suburbs of the Twin Cities. For exotic (and pricey) shops, the Galleria mall off of France Av. in Edina is not to be missed. Galleria also houses several fine restaurants and probably the biggest Barnes and Noble bookstore in the Twin Cities, which is located adjacent to Starbucks Coffee.

There are 30 parks in Edina and four golf courses. Population, like Eden Prairie, is at about 50,000. Edina is a veritable sea of office parks, if you are looking for corporate office space or a place to hang a professional shingle. One of the major employers here is Fairview Southdale Hospital with over 2000 employees.
